Fabens ISD says no responses to forensic audit RFQ; board may split scope

Silvia Nunez, Fabens ISD's Director of Finance, informed the Finance/Athletic Committee on June 16 that the district's request for qualifications (RFQ) for a financial forensic audit drew no responses. Nunez said staff intends to ask the Board at the next regular meeting to consider separating the audit into different sections in hopes of generating interest from firms that might bid on part of the work.
The committee took no formal vote on the matter at the workshop; the presentation functioned as an update and a preview of a possible motion at the next regular meeting. The lack of responses to the RFQ could delay any forensic review until the board decides whether to split the scope and reissue the solicitation. "We have had no response for the RFQ that was posted," Nunez said during the update.
