The Claude ISD Board voted to terminate the district's agreement with MSB School Services and to delegate authority to the superintendent to effectuate termination.
"I move to terminate the agreement with MSB School Services and delegate any and all authority to the superintendent to effectuate same," said the board member who moved the motion. The motion passed with seven yeas and one abstention recorded as "with conflict." Immediately afterward the board moved to enter an interlocal agreement with the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) for third-party Medicaid billing services. "I move we enter into an interlocal agreement with TASB for third party Medicaid billing services," the motion states; that motion also passed with seven yeas and one abstention.
The two actions together end the MSB contract and establish TASB as the district's third-party provider for Medicaid billing going forward; the superintendent was delegated authority to carry out the termination and implementation steps.
