Students recognized; patron urges clearer agendas at Granbury ISD meeting

At the start of open session, Granbury ISD trustees highlighted two student achievements. Kinsley Lynch, a fifth grader at Acton Elementary School, was recognized as one of five national winners in a Scholastic Storyworks essay contest. Paola Lumbreras, an eighth grader at Acton Middle School, was noted as one of 32 middle-school students nationally invited to the Joint Science and Technology Institute East.
During the public-comment portion of the agenda, Monica Brown addressed the board and criticized the meeting agenda as vague, saying the public needs more documents and detail before meetings to be sufficiently informed when voting. "The meeting agenda is very vague; she wants more information before the board meeting, more documents for the public to view to the educated to vote?" the minutes record.
Board members acknowledged the public comment in the record but did not provide a response in open session. The meeting proceeded to consideration of consent items and formal votes.
