Granbury ISD approves buses, chromebooks and campus fences in single meeting

Granbury ISD trustees approved several procurement items Sept. 16, authorizing purchases for transportation, instructional technology and campus safety.
The board approved using funds returned by the comptroller to purchase seven school buses. The transcript records two slightly different capacity statements for the buses (one reference to five 77-passenger and two 54-passenger buses, another noting five 71-passenger and two 54 special-education passenger buses). The motion to approve the buses was made by Nancy Alana, seconded by Mike Moore, and passed 5–0 with two absences.
Trustees also approved buying 500 Chromebooks under RFQ 2024-15 for $131,400; the motion was made by Billy Wimberly and seconded by Nancy Alana. That motion passed 4–1, with Melanie Graft recorded as opposed. In addition, the board approved a proposal from Calvary Construction and Restoration for additional fences at Baccus, Granbury High School and Mambrino; that approval was unanimous among those present.
Board members framed the purchases as standard capital and instructional investments; no supplemental financing plan beyond use of returned comptroller funds was detailed in open session.
