GCCISD Honors Grow‑Your‑Own Teachers, Healthiest Schools and First Responders

At the Sept. 9 meeting the Goose Creek CISD board recognized multiple district achievements and partnerships. Harris County Department of Education presented a token of appreciation to Assistant Superintendent of Operations Services Dr. Anthony Price and Director of Safe and Secure Schools Robert Marquez for the Safe & Secure Schools partnership.
Human Resources honored participants in the Grow Your Own (GYO) Clinical Teachers program who completed internships and moved into full‑time teaching positions; minutes list multiple teachers and note each received $18,000 in GYO grant support. The board also recognized first responders, a school principal and nurse for their response to a medical event at Cedar Bayou Junior School and presented America's Healthiest Schools awards to ten campuses.
