Goliad ISD approves GMP for Bond 2023 HVAC replacement, plans phased three-year rollout

Superintendent Holly Lyon told the board that a facility study from BWA rated equipment across campuses from "poor" to "good," and that roughly 144 units identified as in poor condition will be replaced over a three-year span while about 110 units rated fair are slated for replacement over a six-year span. Lyon said equipment will be stored offsite so manufacturers' warranties do not begin until installation at the jobsite. Weaver and Jacobs solicited three bids and will remain with the same manufacturer for the project. The board approved the GMP on a motion by Daniel San Miguel, seconded by Jason Howard; the motion carried 7-0.
The project affects all district campuses and is tied to Bond 2023 funding. District officials said maintenance-contracted service pricing will be reviewed as part of implementation. No dollar figure for the approved GMP was recorded in the public minutes.
