During audience participation, Kathy Hannah of Miller Woods asked why Nicor markings appeared in her area. Director Dave Toepper replied the markings are for Surf Internet installing fiber-optics for residents who choose the service and that similar installations have been taking place throughout the village.
An unnamed resident on Cottage Grove expressed concern that young people riding dirt bikes on the gas-line right-of-way could hit exposed pipes and be injured. The board said it will investigate posting No Trespassing signs along the right-of-way; no timeline or department assignment was provided at the meeting.
