Assistant Superintendent of Finance LeighAnn Goodwin recommended the board accept Baize Electric's bid of $13,350 for labor and permitting to replace interior lighting fixtures at the junior high campus. Goodwin said the district provided materials and used a rubric that considered price, proximity, and reputation to select the winning bidder.
Goodwin stated bids were opened June 4 and recommended a July start; Loyd Hopson moved to accept Baize Electric's bid and Calvin Ford seconded. Trustees approved the award unanimously, 7-0. The contract is labor-only, with the district providing fixtures and materials; staff said work will commence within seven days to complete during summer break.
