Commission approves minutes, hears staff's workplan update and sets next agendas

At the start of the Oct. 29 meeting the Planning & Zoning Commission approved previous meeting minutes by roll call after a motion and second. The commission also asked staff to prepare a long-range agenda memo and to brief commissioners on the list of open policy resolutions and code amendments at the Nov. 19 meeting.
Planning Director Dan Fultz briefed the commission on upcoming dates and proposals, saying Nov. 5 would include two items (a variance request and a continuation) and Nov. 19 would include code-amendment updates and discussion about potential joint meetings with the City Council. On the Aspen Area Community Plan update, Fultz said a full update requires budget and outside consultant support and is most likely to begin after a 2027 budget request is approved.
No final policy decisions were made at the Oct. 29 meeting; staff will circulate memos and draft exhibits in advance of future meetings.
