The resolution asks leaders to uphold the "50/50" rule (which the resolution frames as protecting depot workload from excessive privatization), seek modernization funding and invest in workforce development. "It is vital to our national defense and to this community," a trustee said in explaining the resolution. Trustees asked the superintendent to forward the resolution to local, state and federal representatives.
Several trustees shared personal connections to CCAD and described the depot's multi‑hundred‑million (and locally reported billion‑plus) dollar contribution to the regional economy; the board voted in favor and moved to closed session later in the evening.
