President Brian Smith certified and accepted the returns after the county official presented the totals, completing the board's canvass process for the bond election. The board then adopted an order canvassing the returns and declaring the results. The board's minutes record the motion to adopt the canvass order as moved by Holly Cliffe and seconded by Brian Smith; the motion was recorded as Passed 2-0.
The meeting notice and canvass were conducted in accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, as noted on the record. No further discussion of the Proposition A results is recorded in the special session minutes. The board adjourned following the certification and final motions.
