During the public-comment portion of the Feb. 19 meeting, resident Jerri Schreiber told council members that “the street lights are out from County Rd E to the Bank of Alma,” calling attention to diminished nighttime visibility along that stretch.
Schreiber also said the people who built a house above the dip “are using the driveway behind the wall” and urged the city to require access from 2nd Street instead, saying the practice could interfere with the retaining wall’s integrity. Foreman Wick responded that “there is a wire burnt off underground and as soon as the ground thaws out it will be looked at by Dan Elsenpeter with Twin Bluffs Electric.” No formal motion resulted from the public comment, but the exchange documents the reported outage and a planned inspection when conditions permit.
