The Common Council approved Payment Request #5 for the new Alma library project, authorizing a payment of $175,607.99 to contractor Market & Johnson during the Feb. 19, 2026 meeting.
Chair of the Finance/Tax & License/Zoning Committee Gary Jepsen reported on committee recommendations; Laura Petersen presented bids for furniture, fixtures and equipment. The council approved shelving from Eau Claire Business Interiors for $86,277 and awarded a furniture bid to C & J Associates for $96,752.04. The council also approved change order #2 and #3 from Market & Johnson “in the amount of $126,360 surplus to not have to drill as many wells,” per the record. Members additionally discussed bird-safe glass as an option for the building; the record notes some grant funding and an anonymous $500 donation given “in the name of Wings Over Alma.”
All motions related to the library items passed by roll call vote with members present voting yes.
