Goliad ISD board accepts Lone Star Governance goal progress updates

The Goliad ISD Board of Trustees voted to accept Lone Star Governance Goal progress measures and monitoring updates for Goal 1 (early literacy), Goal 2 (early math) and Superintendent Constraint 3 (TIA implementation). The motion, by Trustee Jason Howard and seconded by Board Secretary Sheila Edwards, carried 6-0 with Trustee Daniel San Miguel absent.
LSG coach Lisa Moya and teachers Trisha Foerster, Brandi Wallek, Cori Bloch and Julie Franke presented classroom progress, describing volunteer participation in class testing and data collection efforts. Superintendent Lyon reported increased teacher participation in TIA meetings and noted that Brandi Wallek is coordinating data collection to track student growth. The board heard that the time tracker from the January 13 meeting and classroom demonstrations gave trustees a clearer understanding of assessment procedures.
