The Village Board on May 5 approved Resolution No. 1195 authorizing execution of a mutual-aid agreement with the Illinois Law Enforcement Alarm System. Trustee Perchinski moved for adoption and Trustee Stewart seconded; the board voted unanimously in favor.
Police Chief Greg Smith described the agreement as a tool to request additional law enforcement support when the village needs more manpower. "This gives us the ability for mutual aid throughout the state for situations when we need more manpower," Smith said. The resolution grants authority for the village to participate in that intergovernmental cooperative system.
The resolution passed by roll-call vote with five ayes and one trustee absent.
