Steger board adopts nighttime parking restrictions on 34th Place and Royal Oaks Drive

The Village of Steger Board of Trustees voted May 5 to adopt Ordinance No. 1334, creating new parking restrictions on Royal Oaks Drive from 11:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. and on 34th Place between Chicago Road and Emerald Avenue. Trustee Stewart made the motion and Trustee Trotier seconded; a roll-call vote recorded ayes from Trustees Kaminski, Stewart, Thurmond, Trotier and Perchinski.
Mayor William J. Joyce said the Royal Oak homeowners group had requested the restriction and that neighbors had been informed. The ordinance amends Chapter 82, Section 82-479 of the municipal code to add the two restricted areas.
The board did not record any abstentions or conditions to the ordinance’s adoption. The restriction is effective as adopted pending any further administrative steps required by village code.
