At the Dec. 16 meeting the Blue Ridge ISD Board approved multiple vendor awards covering transportation and building systems. Trustees approved a bus purchase (motion by Matt Grier, seconded by Gary Lillard) and selected Pye Barker to update the BRMS fire alarm system after reviewing vendor documents and bid evaluation sheets. John Gaulden moved to approve Pye Barker; Gary Lillard seconded. The vote on Pye Barker was recorded as five yes, zero no, one abstain (Lonnie Murphy indicated a conflict), and one absent.
The board separately approved Texas Fire & Sound as the vendor to update PA systems at BRHS and BRMS. Gary Lillard moved to approve Texas Fire & Sound and Scott Cessna seconded; that motion passed 6–0 with one board member absent. The approvals authorize district administration to finalize vendor contracts and proceed with scheduled safety and audio upgrades.
