The council approved contracting Lien & Peterson Architecture for $35,000 to complete the Phase 2 remodel design work for the new city hall and, separately, approved a $5,000 roof design change order to incorporate 2-inch insulation as required by state standards.
Chairperson Larry Grisen reported that Phase 2 of the new city hall project and the fire department's needs were central topics for the municipal building committee. The transcript records: "Motion by Brommer seconded by Earney to approve $35,000.00 to Lien & Peterson for phase 2 remodel proposal. All members voting yes by roll call vote." The council also approved the roof design change order: "There was also a roof design change order for $5,000.00 presented as per state requirements to include 2" insulation for the pitch of the roof to help with water shedding." "Motion by Earney seconded by Jepsen to approve the roof change order required by the state for $5,000.00. All members voting yes by roll call vote."
Both approvals were recorded by roll call and are intended to address specific design and code requirements for the new city hall project and the needs of the fire department for that space.
