Alma approves $77,385 chip-seal contract for Riverview Drive

The Alma Common Council voted on March 19 to accept Fahrner Construction's bid of $77,385 to perform full-length chip sealing of Riverview Drive, with an additional $1,750 approved for street sweeping. The motion to award the contract was moved by David Earney and seconded by Loren Mueller and passed by roll call vote.
Utilities Committee Chair Larry Grisen also reported committee discussion about a fire protection charge; the committee was authorized to look into that charge further. Members noted additional local street work and a forthcoming Wisconsin Department of Transportation presentation at the next meeting about Hwy 35 construction planned for 2032 and potential crosswalk and parking impacts.
