The Board of Supervisors on Oct. 29 considered items related to the Bayview Hunters Point and Hunters Point Shipyard redevelopment plans. The clerk summarized items 11 through 14, which included responses from the Office of Community Investment and Infrastructure (OCII) to written objections, ordinances to amend redevelopment plans to allow the transfer of up to approximately 2,000,000 square feet of research and development and office space, and a resolution amending a tax‑increment allocation pledge to finance public improvements and affordable housing in Candlestick Point Phase 2.
Deputy City Attorney Bridal Russi told the board that OCII had submitted required responses to written objections and that the motion before the board was to consider and adopt those responses. After brief remarks and no requests to sever the items, the board took them on the consent calendar, adopting the resolutions and passing the ordinances on first reading where applicable.
The clerk’s summary included an explicit reference to the transfer of up to approximately 2,000,000 square feet of research and development and office space and an extension of redevelopment plan time limits. The tax‑increment allocation pledge amendment was described as authorizing the pledge of net available tax increment to finance public improvements and affordable housing in furtherance of Candlestick Point Phase 2 of the Hunters Point Shipyard redevelopment project and to adopt the appropriate findings.
Next steps: The matters will proceed through the ordinance adoption cycle; the resolutions on this consent package were adopted at the meeting.
