The Fire Chief reported April activity and near-term personnel items. "So for April, we had 21 calls, 9 EMS, 1 MVA, 6 pumping details, 1 propane natural gas leak, 1 fire alarm, 3 mutual aids," the chief said while presenting monthly activity, adding that five of the 21 calls occurred during weekdays and that mutual aid was received once. He said the department is at 84 calls for the year.
The chief announced firefighter physicals scheduled for June 9 and noted a retirement ceremony set for June 9 at 06:30. The chief also described a transition to a new reporting system (first due reporting) which will yield more detailed monthly reports for board review. The board thanked the chief for the update and noted the department's needs for planning around coverage and training.
