HAYS CISD trustees elect officers for 2026–27; Severance retains presidency

The HAYS CISD Board of Trustees completed its annual reorganization on May 11, electing Byron Severance as Board President, Geoff Seibel as Vice President and Esperanza Orosco as Board Secretary for the 2026–2027 year. Nominations were opened under Board operating procedures and votes were taken by show of hands; all three officers were elected unanimously, 7-0.
President Severance presided over the process and stated that Roberts Rules of Order and Board Policy BE procedures would guide nominations and voting. Trustee Courtney Runkle nominated Severance for president; he accepted and the Board voted 7-0. Raul Vela nominated Geoff Seibel for vice president; Seibel accepted and received a 7-0 vote. Severance nominated Esperanza Orosco for secretary; she accepted and the Board again voted 7-0. After the votes the Board paused briefly for officer rearrangement.
