Harleton ISD trustees approve consent items, two new hires and a campus flooring bid

The Harleton Independent School District Board of Trustees convened its regular meeting on April 14, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. President Jacob Muehlstein called the meeting to order, and roll call recorded Kevin Evers, Harvey Fox, Pat Mc Gill, Ben Wilson, Brian Fitzgerald and Jacob Muehlstein as present; Tim Skaggs was listed absent. The board recognized students of the month: Leslie Rodriguez and Case Galloway at the elementary level and Lillian Smith at the junior high level.
The trustees approved the consent agenda by general consent, which included the March 10, 2026 board minutes, obligations and vouchers, and the financial statement. During the meeting the board approved several individual motions by roll call, including field trips, a library book purchase list, a flooring bid, student insurance for 2026–2027 and two personnel hires. The board then convened into closed session under Texas Government Code §§551.074 and 551.076 and reconvened later to adjourn at 7:49 p.m.
