At a June 25 special meeting, the Teton County Board of Commissioners voted to transfer tactical incident command of non‑federal lands affected by the Kinky Creek Wildfire to an incoming Idaho Type 3 Incident Management Team, effective June 25, 2026. Commissioner Len Carlman moved "to approve the Delegation of Authority transferring incident management of non‑federal lands within the Kinky Creek Wildfire perimeter to the Type 3 Incident Management Team, effective June 25, 2026," and Chair Mark Newcomb seconded; the motion carried 3‑0.
Fire/EMS Chief Mike Moyer presented the Delegation of Authority to the Board and answered questions about the scope of the transfer. Emergency Manager Rich Ochs provided comment and responded to Board questions about operational coordination. There was no public comment on the item. The record shows Commissioners Mark Newcomb, Natalia Macker and Len Carlman voted in favor; Commissioners Wes Gardner and Luther Propst were absent. The meeting adjourned at 9:14 a.m.
