Council approves amendments to Haystack Hill purchase; authorizes SPRF to collect funds

Staff presented Resolution 26‑16, an amendment to the purchase and sale agreement, and Resolution 26‑17, authorizing the Sunset Park Recreation Foundation (SPRF) to serve as the collector of fundraising contributions. Tim (staff presenter) said, “The property is still purchased for 3,100,000. The fundraising is going to capture the additional...200,000,” noting the council‑approved purchase price and the extra fundraising target to support acquisition and related efforts.
Council moved and adopted both resolutions by roll call. Council also discussed that the foundation will be responsible for collecting additional private funds and that the city’s agreement document allows limited automatic extensions to the purchase timeline. Staff will proceed with the purchase documentation and coordinate with SPRF on fundraising.
