Hudson ISD Approves Multiple Employment Contracts After Closed Session

Following a closed executive session held under Texas Government Code §551.074 and §551.076, Hudson ISD trustees reconvened and approved employment contracts recommended for the 2026–2027 school year. The approved contracts include multiple 10-month probationary contracts (Sarah Christopher; Nina Harvill; Abram Harville; Madeline Wren Bailey), dual-assignment 10-month contracts (Jerry (JD) Sullivan; Jenna McDougald), an 11-month probationary contract (Robert Walden), a 12-month probationary contract (Felipe Hernandez) and a 12-month term contract for Derek Lillard (noted as previously omitted from the list). The motion to approve was made by Dr. Shawn Penn and seconded by Reagan McClenny; the vote was 6–0.
Board President Katie Baker announced the closed session earlier in the meeting: "The board will now convene in a closed meeting to discuss the following items posted on our agenda as allowed by the Texas Government Code §551.074 and §551.076." The minutes record that any action resulting from closed-session discussion would be taken in open session; the contracts approved were presented as final board action on those personnel items.
