The Hondo Independent School District Board of Trustees approved a defeasance resolution on Aug. 18, 2025 intended to provide for the defeasance and calling for redemption of certain currently outstanding district obligations. Duane Westerman of SAMCO presented the resolution to the board during the meeting held at the Hondo High School cafeteria.
Trustee Blake Halbardier moved to approve the district's defeasance resolution; Trustee Craig Luedke seconded. The board recorded a unanimous roll-call vote in favor: Philip Rothe, Blake Halbardier, Carey Frazier, Steven Tapia, Ricky Ruiz, Joel Gonzales and Craig Luedke voted “for,” and the motion passed. The transcript does not specify which specific bond series or principal amounts are to be defeased.
