South Miami budget reflects shorter meter enforcement hours; citation revenue trimmed by $37,000

City finance staff told the commission that analysis of parking and citation revenue identified areas where citation income exceeded parking fees and recommended moving expired-meter enforcement from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Sunday through Wednesday. CFO Alfredo said the recommendation is reflected in the draft budget as a projected $37,000 reduction in citation revenue.
Commissioners discussed the finding in the context of revenue forecasting; the adjustment was incorporated into the general fund summary presented at the second hearing. The commission approved the budget package that includes this change, and staff said the estimate is incorporated in the operating surplus calculation.
