HPISD trustees elect officers; two trustees sworn in

Maryjane Bonfield was selected president of the Highland Park Independent School District Board of Trustees at the board's May 19 regular meeting, following nominations and a unanimous vote. Trustee Pete Flowers moved the slate — nominating Bonfield as president, Bryce Benson as vice president, Ellen Lee as secretary and Doug Woodward as finance chair — and Trustee Blythe Koch seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.
Ms. Shannon Wayland administered the Oath of Office to Blythe Koch (Place 6) and Pete Flowers (Place 7) before the reorganization vote. The reorganization came early in the meeting after the board reconvened from its first closed session. No additional votes were recorded on the matter, and the appointments took effect immediately.
