The planning committee voted to forward a refined comprehensive plan draft to the town board for the next steps in the zoning process. Chair (S1) opened the discussion and Committee member (S2) summarized edits made with consultant Ed Flynn of La Bella: moving survey results to an appendix, updating maps, and correcting publication dates.
Committee member (S2) said the group removed survey results from the main text and "We're gonna attach the survey as an appendix," so readers can see full results without them appearing inline. S2 told colleagues that the version currently on the town website shows an incorrect date (08/15/2024) and that the correct, most-current date should be 2025; La Bella will verify and implement the change.
Members discussed map accuracy and asked La Bella to source updated geographic and census data rather than rely on locally supplied excerpts; maps in the draft reference a 2023 FEMA update and a 2025 revision that La Bella will confirm. Chair (S1) noted the committee's edits are primarily cosmetic and that the plan remains a zoning-level document that must follow the town-board review process and a subsequent public hearing.
After a short discussion on whether to keep the draft visible on the town website during the town-board review, the committee agreed the posted draft should match the version residents will see at the public hearing. Chair (S1) moved to send the revised draft to the town board; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote. The committee will share the consultant's returned file with members for final verification before the town-board submission.
