HISD approves new hires, resignations and District of Innovation letters of reasonable assurance
Summary
Following closed session, trustees approved recommended new hires, accepted resignations, and approved DOI letters of reasonable assurance for multiple teachers and teacher/coaches. All personnel motions passed unanimously, 7-0.
After returning from closed session the board approved personnel recommendations. A motion by Lou Madsen, seconded by Dr. John Taylor, approved the new hires as presented (including administrators, teachers, counselors and therapists listed in the personnel background packets). The motion carried 7-0. The board also approved the list of resignations on a motion by Lou Madsen, seconded by Justin Scarborough, and approved District of Innovation letters of reasonable assurance recommendations on a motion by Justin Scarborough, seconded by Shannon Coats.
Personnel documents included in the packet list recommended hires such as Karli Sitton (Director of Human Resources) and a range of classroom teachers, counselors and dual-assignment teacher/coaches; resignations included multiple employees and are noted in the board packet. The DOI letters apply to candidates in approved alternative certification programs who will receive one-year letters of reasonable assurance pending certification completion.
