Jourdanton ISD board keeps same officers; Districts 5 and 7 officials sworn in

At its Nov. 11 meeting the Jourdanton Independent School District Board of Trustees retained its existing officers and issued certificates and oaths of office to trustees for Single Member Districts 5 and 7.
Barbara Peeler, President of the Jourdanton Independent School District Board of Trustees, called the Nov. 11 meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. The board issued certificates of election to Gregory (Greg) Vyvlecka for Single Member District 5 and Nicole Rakowitz for Single Member District 7; both completed officer's statements and took oaths of office before Notary Public Ashley M. Okruhlik.
Trustee Kendall Schorsch moved "I move that we keep the same officers in place as the prior year." The motion, seconded by Trustee Kristi Schulte, passed on a unanimous 7-0 vote. The vote record in the minutes lists Vance Jupe, Phillip Netardus, Barbara Peeler, Nicole Rakowitz, Kendall Schorsch, Kristi Schulte and Greg Vyvlecka voting yea.
Why it matters: retaining officers maintains continuity in board leadership during the school year and immediately followed the certification and swearing-in of recently elected trustees. The meeting record does not show any debate of alternative officer configurations or additional nominations.
The meeting included a routine invocation and pledges prior to business, and the board adjourned at 6:58 p.m.
