Kaufman ISD approves $14.12 million guaranteed maximum price for Helen Edwards Early Childhood Center addition

The Kaufman ISD Board of Trustees on Monday unanimously approved a $14,116,600 guaranteed maximum price (GMP) for the Helen Edwards Early Childhood Center addition and authorized the superintendent to execute the associated GMP amendment documents.

Byron Gregg read the motion asking the Board to "approve Option A to approve the Helen Edwards ECC Addition Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) in the amount of $14,116,600.00 as submitted by Pogue Construction to include the Alternate No. 1 Drive Loop and Alternate No. 2 Front Canopy Renovations." Christine Borders seconded the motion; the Board voted 7-0 in favor. The vote was recorded as Drew Peterson, Christine Borders, Linda Mott, Byron Gregg, Lindsey Abell, Elizabeth O'Donnell and Casey Townsend all voting yes.

Board members did not record additional amendments to the motion during the meeting. The approved GMP covers the base scope and the two named alternates; the district minutes note Pogue Construction as the submitting contractor. The Board also authorized the Superintendent to execute the GMP contract amendment documents, moving the project into the procurement/contract phase.
