Denise Swiercinsky reported to the Wabaunsee County Board of Commissioners that Echo Cliff Park sustained damage during recent heavy rains and that repair work will be required to reopen affected areas. Swiercinsky said she is pursuing FEMA assistance and asked the board to consider county funding options.
Commissioners said they will review the restrictions on the Liquor Tax fund earmarked for parks and consider appropriating those funds for repairs. No final appropriation was approved at the July 20 meeting; the board directed staff to review the fund restrictions and report back.
