Kountze Independent School District trustees voted Aug. 11 to approve an order authorizing the issuance of "Kountze Independent School District Unlimited Tax School Building Bonds, Series 2025," following a recommendation from Superintendent Shane Reyenga. The motion, made by trustee Missy Jennings and seconded by Brandon Laird, carried unanimously (6-0).
At the same meeting the board approved educational specifications and instructional facility space requirements for a planned new elementary school and selected a surveyor and geotechnical firm to begin site work and studies. The board also authorized opening a Bond Proceeds Account with the district's bank depository to hold bond funds. All motions related to the bond and project planning carried unanimously (6-0).
