La Villa ISD's Board of Trustees completed a reorganization of its leadership at its Dec. 18, 2024 regular meeting, electing officers in multiple 4–3 votes.
President David Alaniz was elected in a 4–3 vote after nominations from trustees; the board recorded individual votes for each nominee. In subsequent contested votes, Noe M. Castillo was elected vice‑president, Gilbert Hinojosa III was elected board secretary and Eduardo Garcia Jr. was elected assistant secretary; each of those contests was decided by a 4–3 tally. The minutes list the voting trustees and counts for each position but do not record motions to close nominations.
The reorganization began after the roll call that documented attendance by trustees Yesenia Morales, Marianna Reyna, Noe Castillo, Sonia M. Lopez, Gilbert Hinojosa III and Eduardo Garcia Jr. The board followed its standard procedure of entertaining nominations and recording votes; the meeting was presided over by David Alaniz. No formal challenges to the tallies appear in the minutes.
