The La Vega ISD Board of Trustees unanimously approved all matters incident and related to the issuance and sale of “La Vega ISD unlimited tax School Building Bonds, Series 2024,” and designated the superintendent or the superintendent’s designee to execute the sale documents. The motion to approve bond-related matters was made by Brenda Rocha and seconded by Raymond Koon.
District staff provided a bond-update briefing during the meeting. Deputy Superintendent Todd Gooden reviewed a request from the City of Bellmead about a shelter connected to the project and noted an upcoming groundbreaking on Sept. 4 for the district’s multi-purpose activity center. The minutes state that the board approved delegating authority for the bond sale but do not list the bond principal amount in the record.
Board members also discussed lessons from recent leadership training and priorities for oversight as bond-funded projects move from planning to construction. Administration will proceed with sale execution and project scheduling as authorized by the board.
