Charleston planning board schedules community events, reports survey returns for comprehensive plan

The Town of Charleston Planning Board reported at its June 11 meeting that all surveys for the town’s comprehensive plan have been mailed and that returned surveys—by mail, drop-off at town hall and online—have been divided among committee members for collation. Amanda Peterson, vice chair and a member of the Comprehensive Plan Committee, was listed among those handling returns and said the committee will compile results ahead of community events.
The board scheduled a first community participation event for July 12 from 9–11 a.m., with a second event slated to follow the closeout of survey responses on Sept. 20. Minutes note that ‘Amy’ (first-name only in the minutes) is expected to produce a promotional flyer to be posted on the town website and used in other outreach venues. The minutes also record that updates and information are due to a staff contact identified as Danny within the next few days. The record shows committee members plan to actively promote the events through personal outreach in addition to the website.
