KISD board authorizes interlocal agreement with Kerr County for emergency transportation support

Kerrville Independent School District trustees on April 20 authorized the superintendent to execute an interlocal agreement with Kerr County to provide emergency transportation support and limited intake/processing during emergencies.
Presenter Brent J. Ringo, Ed.D., told the board the agreement is intended “to provide emergency transportation support within Kerr County and short-term reunification during an emergency; subject to KISD’s priority obligations to its students and operations and to develop procedures for communication, coordination, and implementation of responsibilities under this agreement.” The motion to approve the agreement was made by Jack Stevens and seconded by Rolinda Schmidt and passed with one absence recorded.
The board’s action formally allows KISD to participate in county-led emergency transportation and short-term intake efforts while preserving district priorities for students and operations. The administration said staff will prepare procedures outlining communication and coordination steps with Kerr County before implementation.
