Charleston planning board advances comprehensive‑plan survey and schedules July and September workshops

Amanda Peterson, Vice Chair of the Town of Charleston Planning Board, told members the town's comprehensive plan update is moving forward and that the survey draft has been finalized with cosmetic edits completed by Amy. "The comprehensive plan is coming along," Peterson said, and she presented a cost analysis for printing and distribution; she will provide an estimate to Town Supervisor Robert Sullivan within two days.
If the supervisor approves the estimate, Peterson said she will run the survey packets over the weekend and hold a "stuffing party" on the following Monday or Tuesday so the mailings can go out the next week. The board discussed two consultant‑led workshops: a July session timed for when about half the surveys are expected back, and a final workshop in September after most responses are returned. The board agreed the dates will be finalized and included in the mailing and promotional materials.
