Board approves $299.5 million GMP for Highland Lakes High School; Bennett abstains

The Lake Travis ISD Board approved a new Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) of $299,537,086 for CMR 23-01 with American Constructors for the construction of Highland Lakes High School. The project, funded in prior bond elections, remains on schedule with an anticipated opening in August 2029.
The motion to approve the GMP was made by Trustee Phillip Davis and seconded by Trustee Kris Woodcock; the motion passed 6-0 with Trustee Tiffany Bennett recorded as abstaining. Administration said the GMP includes previously authorized Phase 1 sitework and utilities and reflects continued collaboration among the district, design team and contractor.
