Secondary principal reports spring sports successes, student grants and upcoming events

Secondary Principal Megan Walls reported a busy end-of-year period and several student opportunities at the June 10 meeting. "We had a great sports season this year. The spring sports award ceremony is tomorrow. There are 84 students accepting an award," Walls said, and she noted that finals and Regents have begun.
Walls also told the board that two students, Tessa Adams and Iris Ringer, were selected to attend a Youth Summit supported by a $30,000 grant, and that Isabelle Ayotte and Sophia Lynch will attend a HOBY youth leadership event. She announced a bake sale on Friday and a Benefit for Sarah scheduled for July 6 at the Chazy Recreation Park and said the district will hold a calendar meeting to avoid overlapping events. She also mentioned consideration of a possible elective, "Sweethearts and Heroes," for next year.
