The La Villa ISD Board of Trustees canvassed the Nov. 5, 2024 trustee election and certified the tally sheets at its Nov. 18 regular meeting. President David Alaniz read the returns and certified the figures recorded on the official tally sheets.
The board declared winners and recorded the vote totals as presented: Andy Garza (325), Robert 'Bevi' Perez (425), Fidel Guzman Jr. (185), Marianna Reyna (478), David "Hayes" Alaniz (380), Noe M. Castillo Jr. (751), Ray Arnold Tamez (361) and Eduardo Garcia "EJ", Jr. (526). Superintendent Robert Muñoz recommended approval of the canvass; Trustee Yesenia Morales moved to adopt the canvass and Trustee Marianna Reyna seconded. "All voted in favor, motion carried," the board secretary recorded.
Following certification, judges and officials administered oaths of office to the newly declared trustees. Judge Keno Vasquez swore in Eduardo Garcia Jr.; Daniel A. Guzman (STC Board Trustee) administered the oath to Marianna Reyna; and Judge Samuel Sanchez administered the oath to David Alaniz. The swearing-in followed immediately after the canvass certification and was completed without objection.
The canvass vote was approved unanimously by the five trustees present. The meeting record notes two trustees were absent.
