New trustee Cindy Burt sworn in after canvass of Nov. 2024 election

The Lake Worth ISD Board of Trustees canvassed the recent election results at the Nov. 18 meeting and determined that Cindy Burt is the elected trustee for Place 7. President Velazquez conducted the canvass, which concluded at 6:02 PM.
The board approved a motion to proceed with the Statement of Officers naming Cristina Gallagher for Place 6 and Cindy Burt for Place 7; that motion passed 5–0 with one member (Bret Tooke) absent. The board subsequently approved administering the Oath of Office to both trustees; Notary Kelly Hoyt administered the oath to the two members during the meeting.
