Board approves counselor certification waiver, interlocal for Texas Reading Academies and a personnel termination
Summary

The board approved an administrative request to enter an interlocal agreement with The Meadows Center at the University of Texas at Austin to continue as LTISD's Authorized Provider for the Texas Reading Academies (a requirement under HB 3 for K–3 teachers and principals). The motion to approve the interlocal agreement passed by a 5–0 vote.
Separately, the board approved a temporary waiver to permit the district to employ a counselor at Lake Travis High School who did not hold the standard state certification for that assignment; the minutes describe the waiver as a temporary measure for up to three years where state certification cannot be obtained in time. Trustees approved the waiver on a recorded 5–0 vote.
