Lake Travis Education Foundation presents $450,000 to Lake Travis ISD; athletic trainer honored

The Lake Travis Board of Trustees accepted a $450,000 donation from the Lake Travis Education Foundation (LTEF) during its Sept. 18 meeting. Tonya Boggan, 2023–2024 president of LTEF, presented the check to trustees to support enrichment programming and classroom instructional enhancements that fall outside Texas Education Agency core funding.
Marco Alvarado, the district’s executive director of communications and community relations, introduced that Lake Travis High School athletic trainer Cameron Chalmers was named one of 10 recipients of the Dave Campbell's Texas Football 2024 Community Leader Award. The district noted the award includes recognition activities and donor support; the LTEF presentation and the Cameron Chalmers recognition were informational items presented to the board. "Tonya Boggan, 2023 - 2024 President of the LTEF will present a check to the LTISD Trustees for Lake Travis ISD in the amount of $450,000," the meeting minutes state.
The board did not take a separate vote to accept the gift beyond the formal presentation; LTEF’s funds were described in the meeting materials as designated for enrichment programs and instructional technology. Trustees and administrators said the donation supports the district’s stated goals for student opportunities beyond TEA core requirements.
