Lake Dallas ISD trustees on Aug. 12 approved an Agreement for the Purchase of Attendance Credit (Option 3) and delegated contractual authority to Superintendent Dr. Kristin N. Brown to submit required Chapter 49 documentation for the 2024–25 school year.
Deputy Superintendent Wes Eversole told trustees that the Texas Education Agency informed the district its Tier One local share will exceed the district's entitlement for 2024–25 and that a Chapter 49 adjustment is required. The agreement reduces the district's wealth per weighted student to a level determined by the commissioner of education and allows TEA to net recapture payments from Foundation School Program funding under current law.
The board approved a motion — moved by Ginger Collier and seconded by Aaron Appleby — to delegate authority to the superintendent to obligate the district under TEC §11.1511(c)(4) and Chapter 49 for the 2024–25 school year. The vote was unanimous, 7‑0.
