Chief Financial Officer Scott Lucas presented the proposed amendments to the 2025–2026 Lamesa ISD budget during a special meeting on Aug. 25, 2025, walking trustees through the meeting handouts. Lucas also outlined the district's proposed tax-rate components for the coming year, including a proposed M&O rate of $0.7162 and an I&S rate of $0.2215.
Trustee Rebecca H. Gonzales moved "to approve the budget amendments," and Trustee Kevin Telchik seconded the motion. The board adopted the amendments by a unanimous vote of 6-0. The minutes record that no members of the public signed up to comment on the budget or tax-rate proposals before the vote.
