The board moved to appoint a three-person committee to prepare an advocacy statement in favor of Proposition 1 and approved the motion at its Aug. 3 special meeting.
A board member read the names of the appointees—Judson Willis, Debbie Edward and Catherine Coleman—and the motion carried. The board also recorded that no individuals known to oppose the proposition had agreed to serve on an opposing committee. Staff were directed to notify the Thurston County auditor of the appointments and of the vacancy on the 'against' committee in accordance with the statute the board cited on the record (RCW 291.32 0.280).
The board carried the motion to appoint the committee and to complete the required notifications; the transcript shows the appointments passed by voice vote.
