At the Sept. 4 meeting the Board approved several personnel-evaluation and professional-development items for the 2025–26 school year. The Board adopted The Council of School Superintendents Model Evaluation Version 2016 as the Superintendent evaluation tool for 2025–26 and approved the Professional Learning Plan and the Teacher and Principal APPR (Annual Professional Performance Review) plans; the Board authorized the Superintendent to modify and resubmit APPR plans if requested by the State Education Department and to report any changes at the next Board meeting.
The Board also completed required reviews of policy areas including Investments (6240), Purchasing (6700), Code of Conduct (5300) and Parental and Family Engagement (1900), conducted a first reading of Policies and Regulations 1120‑R (School District Records), 5500/5500‑R (Student Records), 5550 (PPRA), and 8635/8635‑R (Information and Data Privacy and Breach Notification), and directed the District Clerk to transmit updated policies to the New York State School Boards Association by Sept. 15, 2025. "Motion carried unanimously," the minutes record for the consent approvals.
Board members heard that if the State Education Department requires changes to APPR plans the Superintendent will make and refile those changes and report back to the Board; no specific changes were requested at the meeting.
